Large-scale solar PV in the UK will be cheaper than gas before 2018
25th November 2014
Solar electricity is coming down in price, and it looks like solar will soon be a major player in utility-scale electricity generation. The Solar Trade Association have just released a report, where they estimate that electricity generated by solar farms will be equivalent in price to electricity generated by gas power stations (without government subsidy).
In just 10 years electricity generated by solar farms could be cheaper than the wholesale price, making solar PV one of the cheaper ways of generating electricity for the National Grid.
We think that's good news!
