Solar Hot Water

How it works

Solar thermal panels absorb heat from the sun to heat up fluid inside the collector. Panels work on cloudy days. When the fluid is hot enough it is then pumped to the hot water cylinder in your home where the heat is transferred to heat your water for showers, baths, and even swimming pools! Essentially providing you with access to free hot water all throughout the year.

During the summer solar thermal can meet all your hot water needs, and it can be paired up with a boiler or an immersion heater in the winter as a back-up. On average solar thermal systems provide 40-60% of your annual hot water needs.
